Don't Fall for Us - Dave Groves

Dave Groves of the Cooper Trauma Center in Camden, talked to us about falls, and other accidents that we have more of as we age. He also talked about things we can do to minimize the risks of falling. And he emphasized that when we fall, we need to tell people what happened and what hurts, because we do  not know how serious the consequences of a fall might be.

We also learned the difference between a Trauma Center and an Emergency Room. In an Emergency Room, you wait for the staff. In a Trauma Center, the staff is waiting for you.

Pat Delsi have been in Broadcasting for over 6 decades.
He told us how he had always wanting to be in broadcasting since he was about 12 years old.

Her started out at a radio station in Vineland. His first 6 commercials were for business on Delsea drive. From then on he name was remembered.

A lot of his time was spent at WCAM in Comden. He even got to report, live, on the fire at the old Camden Catholic fire from the 18th floor of Camden City Hall, the WCAM studios.

War Games - Chris Strasser

Chris Strasser gave us an introduction to War Games:

Wargames (also called “conflict simulations”) range from the very abstract and simple, like Risk, through extremely complex, thoroughly researched simulations of specific battles, such as Gettysburg or the Battle of the Bulge.

Because they have well-defined rules

and use representations of the actual battlefield and units that fought,
wargames allow history buffs to play “what-if” with various historical and real-world situations.

Unlike chess (but as in the real world), the results of one unit attacking another are subject to random results.  Thus, you can have Pickett’s charge succeeding.

Chris has been collecting and playing wargames since the 1970s.  He has a fairly extensive game collection and used several of them to explain the hobby to us.

What is Chiropractic & Good Health - January 5, 2017

Dr. Charles Carabasi explained to us what Chiropractic is and how it can affect our bodies and our health through relieving pressure on the nerves in our spinal cord as  they leave our brain.

He told us that a lot of our physical problems could be addressed by adjustments that relieve pressure on the nerves and nerve signals can travel more easily to / from the brain.

He also talked about diet and the impact of additives to the food we eat and how that effects  our bodies.

We divided up the the time in one hour segments and members took one hour shifts.

We tried to us our most imposing members to increase the giving.. We think it worked...

Worst President Ever - Robert Strauss

Robert Strauss spoke to us about the "Worst President Ever".

He explained his choice for this dubious distinction. There were several points made, but the most telling was that he was the leader that wade the decisions that led to the Civil War.

The Worst President EVER -- James Buchanan.
