Tells us about current topics in town.
Sale of the water system is going well.
We were able to retire the borough debt last year.
There is a lot of consideration on the future of Haddonfield. But don't expect to see much change. What we have is working pretty well.
We have taxation issues. We do not get much in the way of state aid with respect to what we contribute. Higher taxes tend to drive out empty nesters and replace smaller homes with larger home on smaller lots. The larger home are less affordable to new families.
Plan to use the money that had been going to service the debt to fund road work. They are working on a five year plan for the roads. After that they plan to work on existing infrastructure -- buildings, etc.
Another item they are working on is shade trees. there are about 9000 trees in Haddonfield and they are working on diseased oak and ash.
Bancroft - the area is zoned R2 the owners still need o file their intent. Once done the zoning board can rule on the intent and possibly go to court. If Haddonfield is able to buy the property, the concept is to make it tax neutral by balancing he non-taxable and taxable properties.
