Masonic Temple and Fairmount Park Bus Tour - Feb. 21, 2017

On Feb 21, 2017 we took a bus trip for a tour of the Philadelphia Masonic Temple and the Fairmount Park Mansions. The tour was followed by a wonderful lunch at the Pub.

The Masonic Temple in Philadelphia was constructed in 1873. It has been called one of the great “wonders” of the Masonic world. Adorned with some of the finest artifacts of Freemasonry and magnificent Lodge rooms based on themes of the ancient architectural world,

After the tour of the temple, we took a guided bus tour of the mansions of Fairmount Park.

Each house has its own personality and offers a glimpse into the intriguing public and private lives of prominent Philadelphians during an important time in American history --- just prior to and after the American Revolution.

Following that, we settled down for a very nice lunch at the Pub.

A very good time was had by all!!!

Don't Fall for Us - Dave Groves

Dave Groves of the Cooper Trauma Center in Camden, talked to us about falls, and other accidents that we have more of as we age. He also talked about things we can do to minimize the risks of falling. And he emphasized that when we fall, we need to tell people what happened and what hurts, because we do  not know how serious the consequences of a fall might be.

We also learned the difference between a Trauma Center and an Emergency Room. In an Emergency Room, you wait for the staff. In a Trauma Center, the staff is waiting for you.
