Dentist to the Flyers

A local Haddonfield Dentist, Nick Rausch,  todl us his story of growing up in Haddonfield and how he became a dentist. Part of that story was how he became a dentist to the Philadelphia Flyers Hockey Team.

One part of his story was how he switched from using caps and bridges to implants so that he just has to replace the implant cover and not the whole tooth when the player gets hit in the mouth.

Battle of Haddonfield - Re-enactment

Today downtown Haddonfield was the site of the Colonials battling the Red Coats. The re-enactment occurred along Kings Highway between HaddonAvenue and the Indian King Tavern on Kings Highway.

The battle contiunues and casualtoies are taken on both sides.

The outnumbered Colinials retreat to fight another day... A few days later, the colinials will defeat the British (Hessians) at Fort Mercer in the battle of Red Bank. But today was not our day...

The Battle of Red Bank  was a battle of the American Revolutionary War in which a Hessian force was sent to take Fort Mercer on the left bank (or New Jersey side) of the Delaware Riverjust south of Philadelphia, but was decisively defeated by a far inferior force of Colonial defenders. Although the British did take Fort Mercer a month later, the victory supplied a sorely-needed morale boost to the American cause, delayed British plans to consolidate gains in Philadelphia, and relieved pressure on General Washington's army to the north of the city.
